How Great Real Estate Agents Create “No Regrets”

How Great Agents Create No Regrets

A recent surveys shows…..

A recent Zillow survey showed that an astounding 75% of buyers who purchased a home in the last two years have regrets. With the market being as over-heated as it has been, this is not surprising. Decisions made in a rush often lead to later regret, and the real estate market is no exception. In areas like California, some buyers bypass inspections altogether and go over-asking just to be first in line to close a deal. As it turns out, rushed deals often come with regrets.

Home size is the number one regret listed by most buyers.

By far the number one regret listed by 31% of buyers is home size. Most buyers regret that they didn’t get a larger home. This is exacerbated by the work-from-home and school-from-home realities that buyers are in due to the ongoing Covid pandemic. To avoid this regret, great real estate agents continually help their buyers establish where they can compromise and what are deal-breakers.

Maintenance is the second regret buyers have. Having a home warranty in place at closing can help.

After home size, regrets centered around maintenance. As many as 32% of buyers listed home maintenance as more problematic than they expected when initially purchasing a home. In this case, a great agent makes a great difference by putting a home warranty in place at the time of closing. Your buyers will remember you for this down the road. Fidelity National Home Warranty offers numerous options for home warranties.

Fortunately, the spring market of 2022 is looking a little less rushed for buyers, with homes staying on the market for a longer period of time overall. This increase in time can make all the difference for buyers under pressure.

Location and layout are still the two most important factors when buying a home.

To be a great real estate agent, remember that layout and location are the two most important factors to consider when purchasing a home. A location can never be changed and a layout can be very expensive, or even impossible, to change. Help your buyers stay focused on what’s important…..and remember to get that home warranty in place at closing.
